Family Reunification

Resources

Supporting life.

The Family Reunification Program (FRP) provides an intensive, individualized, therapeutic intervention approach that addresses any services and supports a family requires to bring children home from out of home placement and keep them home or in a permanent family for good. Each family has a two-person team that includes a therapist and family worker. Trauma screening is followed by therapeutic sessions that take place weekly for 4 to 6 months, as well as support activities to assist with family goals and provide resources, transportation and community linkages.

This State of Michigan funded service is available throughout the Eastern Upper Peninsula (Alger, Chippewa, Luce, Mackinac & Schoolcraft Counties) to all families with children in outof- home care due to abuse/neglect (dual wards included). A Court Order is required allowing children to return home or to a permanent placement. Children must return home within 30 days of referral but not return home more than 48 hours before the beginning of service. Services may begin up to 30 days prior to children returning home. See below for referral contact information.
